Join the Organic Centre for its Apple Day-Harvest Festival on Sunday September 28th from 12 -4pm in this its 30th year anniversary. Its back with all the seasonal sights and smells that make up the infamous and free event. There will be talks and tours from the apple experts like Phil Wheal, and grape expert Andrew Watson. Botanist Maria Cullen will discuss the threat to apple trees from fire blight, farming for nature ambassador Tommy Early from Mount Allen Farm, will chat about one of his inspirational projects.
Alongside the centre piece of apple pressing, there will be craft demos, basket weaving and hand spinning. Browse our array of local stalls of sustainable crafts and food indoors and outdoors. With plenty for the family to enjoy including heritage games from 'Heritage Crafts Alive' and children's arts and crafts section hosted by Fiona and Catherine from Green Shoots and joined by Seb. Meet the returning alpacas from Big Owen Alpacas, always popular with younger family members.
