About
On Saturday 13th September, Trillick Arts and Cultural Society will take you a journey back in time to the 14th Century to explore how the county lines of Fermanagh and Tyrone became drawn, as we known them today.
Venture across the scenic countryside of Trillick to Dreigh Hill where the Battle between the Maguire Clan and the O'Neill Clan took place almost 700 years ago.
O'Neill enthusiast Martin Mellon will recount this time of bloodshed and will invite people to learn more about one of the most influential Clans in Ireland as well as the Celts as a whole.
This is a not to be missed event for anyone who is interested in local history, who wants to learn more about their area, who is studying this period of time or perhaps an O'Neill or Maguire namesake.
Meeting point for Ag ceiliúradh Chlann Uí Néill is Trillick Arts & Cultural Society, Main Street at 10.30am, Saturday 13th September. Walk to Dreigh Hill is approximately two miles – lifts are available with pre-booking. Talk at Dreigh Hill. Return to Trillick for refreshments and discussion. Cover is £10.
