About

Fermanagh County Museum at Enniskillen Castle is delighted to host an exhibition focusing on the history of sawmilling in Fermanagh. Working in collaboration with a local sawmilling company, Balcas Timber Ltd, the reminiscences and anecdotes of current and former employees are recorded.

Balcas Timber Ltd, incorporated on 17th August 1962, is now one of Britain and Ireland's largest wood product suppliers and renewable energy providers. The exhibition display highlights other sawmills within the locality, its history, products, development and innovation of the sawmilling industry in Fermanagh.
