Tully Castle EHOD 2026

About

A fortified house and bawn built between 1611 and 1613 for the Scottish planter Sir John Hume. The house was occupied by the Hume family until 1641 when it was captured and burned on Christmas Eve by Rory Maguire.  It was never lived in again, and lay in ruin until taken into state care in 1974. This unstaffed site can be explored at your own pace, with interpretation panels available; please note that facilities and access may be limited.
