Christmas at the Ulster American Folk Park

Ulster American Folk Park, 2 Mellon Road, Omagh, County Tyrone, BT78 5QU
Christmas at the Ulster American Folk Park

About

Discover how the festive season would have been celebrated in rural Ulster, from the humble surroundings of a single-room cabin to the indulgent Christmas of the Campbell House. Meet Mrs Mellon as she bakes Christmas pudding on the open hearth, and taste samples of traditional Christmas cake and ginger cordial.

The Mummer characters will be entertaining you with a performance led by Captain Mummer, celebrating one of rural Ulster's oldest Christmas traditions. Wander round the snowy paths of American Street, taking in the Christmas décor, smells and festive flavours on the American side. Learn how European settlers influenced the holiday season and created the American Christmas we know today.
