About

Ballinamore Camino 2026

The Ballinamore Camino is a unique walking event in the heart of County Leitrim that brings together people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the stunning scenery, warm hospitality and strong community spirit of the Shannon-Erne region. Following the hugely successful inaugural event in 2025, the 2026 Camino returns on Saturday 11th July with an expanded programme and an expected increase in participants from across Ireland and beyond.

Participants can choose from three scenic routes of approximately 16km, 26.5km and 34.5km, taking walkers along quiet country roads, forest tracks, upland trails and some of the most spectacular viewpoints in the North West. The routes showcase the natural beauty of South Leitrim while offering panoramic views across Leitrim, Cavan, Longford, Fermanagh and Tyrone. For 2026, the route direction has been changed to provide a fresh experience while retaining all the highlights that made the event so popular.

More than just a walk, the Ballinamore Camino is a celebration of community, wellbeing and the outdoors. Registration includes refreshments along the route, a commemorative medal, event t-shirt and a hot meal on completion, ensuring participants enjoy a memorable day from start to finish.

Whether you are an experienced walker looking for a challenge or simply want to enjoy a day exploring the beautiful Leitrim countryside, the Ballinamore Camino offers an unforgettable experience and a warm Ballinamore welcome.
