Celebrating 300 Years of Legacy

This May, Fermanagh will celebrate 300 years since Thomas Barton arrived in Bordeaux, marking his legacy and the region’s historical ties to the Wine Geese.

Running from 31st May to 28th June, the Wine Geese Festival is a unique opportunity to discover Fermanagh's place in global wine history while indulging in fine wine, food, and culture.

The Fermanagh Bartons – ‘Wine Geese’

One of the most notable families associated with Fermanagh’s Wine Geese legacy is the Barton family, who became key players in the international wine trade.
Wine Geese Festival Main Exhibition

The history of French Tom Barton, his ancestors and his influence in Fermanagh and Ireland as well as in Bordeaux - exhibition on display in Enniskillen Castle.

Exhibition - Enniskillen Streetscape 1840

This Exhibition was named Streetscapes II in homage to Streetscapes I - created by Artist Eleanor Wheeler. You can spot her ceramic plaques around the town.
