The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprises (CAFRE’s) is delighted to welcome visitors to Enniskillen Campus during Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend.

CAFRE is Northern Ireland’s specialist agri-food and land-based college and providing equine focused education at Enniskillen Campus. During open farm weekend the public will have an opportunity to visit the specialist facilities are that are used by both students and industry.  CAFRE has over 1800 students registered at Greenmount, Loughry and Enniskillen Campuses, and each year provides support to over 10,000 people working in the Agri-Food industry.

What you can see & do:

  • Walk the campus trails (self-guided) to experience the wonderful natural environment, see our environmental enhancement work and our horses.
  • Visit the equitation yard displays.
  • Visit the breeding yard display including the equine racing simulator.
  • See our campus natural environment display and help our pollinators by planting some seeds.
  • See a farrier at work at our farriery unit display.
  • Visit the Fermanagh Beekeepers apiary and their display.
  • Milk Daisy the Cow.
  • See local Pony Club displays.
  • And much more……..

Hospitality:

Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic. Several picnic benches are available. (BBQ not permitted) Tea/coffee may be purchased from an outside caterer.

Dogs are not permitted, with exception of assistance dogs.

CAFRE is an integral part of the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, for Northern Ireland.

Visiting CAFRE Enniskillen is a great way to find out more about careers in equine. www.cafre.ac.uk
