About

The All-Ireland Confined Amateur Drama Finals return to Carrickmore this April, bringing together nine of the finest amateur drama groups from across the island of Ireland.

Delivered by the Mid Ulster Drama Festival, the Finals will run over ten nights from Thursday 9 April to Friday 17 April, followed by a Gala Awards Night on Saturday 18 April at The Patrician Theatre.

This prestigious event represents the culmination of months of competition across 35 festivals nationwide. Audiences can expect a rich and varied programme featuring contemporary Irish writing alongside internationally acclaimed works, exploring themes of family, memory, relationships and moral conflict.

Friday 10 April – Sliabh Aughty Drama Group, Co. Clare: The Outgoing Tide

Saturday 11 April – Tinahely Variety Group, Co. Wicklow: Moonglow

Sunday 12 April – Enniskillen Theatre Company, Co. Fermanagh: Doubt: A Parable

Monday 13 April – Gorey Little Theatre, Co. Wexford: Gut

Tuesday 14 April – Clones Drama Group, Co. Monaghan: The Playboy of the Western World

Wednesday 15 April – Bualadh Bos Drama Group, Co. Galway: From Under the Bed

Thursday 16 April – Glenamaddy Players, Co. Galway: Chapatti

Friday 17 April – Memory Lane Theatre, Co. Kerry: Heaven

Saturday 18 April – Gala Awards Night

This marks the second time Carrickmore has hosted the Finals, having first welcomed the event in 1995. Its return reflects the long-standing reputation of the Mid Ulster Drama Festival, established in 1964, and the importance of The Patrician as a key theatre venue in the region.
