Ann McNulty has been a ceramist for over 30 years, working in Enniskillen where her current studio is located in the Buttermarket. Ann has exhibited previously in the Castle Coole Gallery, in Fermanagh County Museum, The National Museum of Ireland Dublin, The RUA, Potfest in the Park, in Cumbria, and has work in private collections worldwide.

The making and firing of one of her Raku pieces was featured in the BBC series Craft Traditions. Her work has been purchased by The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Fermanagh County Museum, The George Wenger Private Collection, Stoke-on-Trent and many other private collections at home and abroad.
Some of Ann's pottery is handthrown on the potters wheel. Those which are square in profile are extruded and hand-built. The tiles are handmade and all of her pieces are Raku-fired.
Raku is a challenging medium. It involves the lifting with tongs of a still-burning pot from a hot kiln and placing it into a bin, containing wood shavings, which ignite. A lid is placed on the bin, leaving the pot to smoke, smoulder and mature.
The Raku pots are non-functional, so Ann has the freedom to explore shape and, especially, surface pattern, which is carefully related to each individual form.
