Music in Fermanagh
In this, the first concert of Music in Fermanagh’s exciting autumn season, Kristan will be performing a broad range of works by Berkeley, Hindemith, Hamilton Harty, Philip Hammond, Mouquet, Gaubert, Demersseman, Debussy, Hüe and Fauré. He will be accompanied by Máire Carroll, international concert pianist, who has performed throughout Europe, Asia, North America and Canada including performances in the Wigmore Hall, the Barbican, Carnegie Hall and the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
Kristan was born in 1994 and began playing the flute at the age of eight. Winning the inaugural All Ireland Young Flute Player of the Year Competition in 2004 he went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Since graduating in 2016 with the highest final recital mark for all undergraduate and postgraduate woodwind instruments, as well as receiving the Regency Award, he has frequently been invited to play with the Philharmonia Orchestra as Guest Principal Flute. Kristan is noted for playing ‘Danny Boy’ for H.M. The Queen during her historic Diamond Jubilee visit to Enniskillen.
