Lakeland Gravel Grinder 2020
The Lakelander Gravel Grinder is Ireland’s only long distance gravel cycling challenge. Taking place on Saturday 10 October 2020 in Co Fermanagh, riders will traverse gravel forest roads through one of the largest blocks of forest in Ireland. Expect wilderness, remoteness and spectacular views across this virtually unexplored part of Ireland.
The Lakelander Gravel Grinder has two variants – 100km and 50km.
The 100km route, “The Big Dog Challenge”, has 2,000 meters of elevation gain / loss and the 50km route “The Litlle Dog Challenge” has just under 1,000 meters of elevation gain / loss. The courses will be fully waymarked with a number of support points along the way.
GPS Traces of the routes will be available to all riders before the event and all riders will be GPS Tracked, real time so the world can watch the day unfold.
Both loops can be ridden on a gravel bike / adventure bike / cross bike / mountain bike / e-bike.
More information to follow but in the meantime get that gravel bike dusted down, get gravel wheels on your cyclocross bike or get semi slicks on the mountain bike.
Most importantly - get training for this great challenge! Entries open April 2020!
