Description:
Enniskillen (population of approximately 15,000) gets its name from
'Inis Ceithleann' - the island of Kathleen. Items of historical interest include Enniskillen Castle, the town's Churches, the Townhall and Coles Monument in Forthill Park (climb the 108 steps for a wonderful panoramic view of the town and surrounding area. Castle Coole (National Trust property) is situated just outside the town.

Enniskillen is a busy commercial centre and boasts a shopping centre, a wide range of national retail chains complemented by traditional family run businesses. Visitors can choose more unusual purchases at the Craft & Design Centre which is located on the site of the former 'Buttermarket'.

The town has a wide spectrum of accommodation to suit all budgets andvisitors can take in a show at the lakeside Ardhowen Theatre and then unwind in one of the town's many bars and restaurants.

Being an island town which separates the Upper and Lower sections of Lough Erne, its close proximity to moorings and water gives Enniskillen a somewhat continental feel.
