Fermanagh’s luxurious Killyhevlin Hotel and Health Club have good reason to be celebrating 2011, having claimed two of Ireland’s most prestigious Marketing Excellence Awards. In May the Killyhevlin Hotel was crowned winner of the Marketing and Sales Excellence Award at NITB’s Northern Ireland Tourism Awards sponsored by Diageo. While just last week they went for gold once again in Belfast City Hall at the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s all-Ireland Marketing Excellence Awards scooping winner of the Tourism and Hospitality category. Winning was certainly no mean feat, having beaten off stiff competition from eight high profile finalists including runner up George Best City Airport.

FALDO AND MCILROY BRING OPPORTUNITY THROUGH GOLF
24 October 2011: The Faldo Series Grand Final, from Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland, will make its American television debut with an hour-long special, which will air on the Golf Channel on Tuesday 25 October at 3 pm ET and Saturday 29 October at 12 noon.

After 71 gruelling days at sea and possibly the stormiest summer in recent years, Elaine “Shooter” Alexander arrived back at Whitehead on 13th of July 2011 to a hero’s welcome, which put her in the record books as the first woman from Northern Ireland to complete the 1000 mile solo paddle around Ireland.

The Lakeland Warrior weekend is a first for Co. Fermanagh. Taking place across the weekend of the 27 / 28 August 2011 there are running and cycling events to suit everyone. On Saturday 27 August runners take centre stage and there are three events to choose from 100km, 50km and 25km. On Sunday 28 August mountain bikers can take part in either a 100km or 60km Mountain Bike Marathon events. Both events are primarily off road, on forest tracks and trails and pass through some of the largest expanses of forest wilderness in Co Fermanagh.
